JB and ME is a small unregistered charity that was set up after our family lost the most amazing little man. The children within our family could not and did not know how to process the loss of a child, and even we as adults could not process it fully, so there was no way a child could. We sadly could find no help for his little cousins and young aunt, especially at a time when they needed it most.

We vowed that James's legacy would live on in some way, we just didn't know how.  A few months after losing James the idea of JB started to grow, a little bear with a heat reactive heart was our aim, and on the anniversary of James passing JB was born. His legacy, a way to help young ones who were struggling with unfathomable loss.

JB, he is a magical little soft bear that will listen to a child's innermost thoughts and let the child know he has heard. He has his own magic colour changing heart, so that when a little one cuddles their JB, his heart will change colour, which lets the child know that JB is listening. 

We have heard that he has been used in various ways. Some little ones believe that he sends messages to those that have passed and when his heart changes colour they know that the message has been heard. Whilst others use it as a worry heart and just talk to JB, and feel that the visual colour change means their worries have been heard. Our JB is whatever they want to believe and helps them the most to cope in the hard times after the loss of a loved one, as well as a permanent memory and a positive link to them.

JB is donated free of charge to children in need, as we want to make sure that any child who has lost a loved one and is struggling with the grief and uncertainty of a bereavement has the help they need. We feel that every JB we create carries our own little ones legacy.

We also want to start running much needed children's emergency first aid courses for parents or parents to be. We feel that every parent should know the basics of emergency first aid when they have a baby/child in their home. These courses are literal life savers and we feel they should be accessible to all parents.

We can only achieve any of this with help and support, hence why we chose to make JB and ME a small unregistered charity, our longterm aim is to raise enough funds so that JB and ME can become a registered charity, thus broadening our reach and accessibility to help more families in need.
